Last summer I made a referral to a team member that was looking for some help with a project. Having served together on a non-profit board I knew a perfect person. Since that introduction I’ve received a significant number of great referrals and my team member has enjoyed working with my referral. A solid win-win-win for everyone involved.

I gave an introduction to a Mr. Bobby Woods this year. Now my introduction for Bobby Woods was completely last minute which sometimes happens. But during the introduction I made a comment on Bobby’s Goldfish. that went something like “When Bobby isn’t working he’s spending time with his goldfish “Goldie” which he loves and cares for very much” to which Bobby retorted “i’m not sure if I love my goldfish as much as you think Harris.” How did this benefit me? you best believe whenever someone in my group sees a fish tank now they either smirk or think of me.

When you give a powerful introduction that captivates the crowd, people notice that you spent some time and interest developing the intro. This speaks of your commitment to detail and to the speaker.

I was able to introduce a member’s employee to one of my clients for a very specific and somewhat specialized service that had nothing to with my business or the other member’s business. My client has been so apprciative that I was able to make this introduction. It has a developed a deeper level of trust between my client and me. He sees that I really am looking out for him and his family and relies on my advise.
