Clay Jeffreys – GateOpener InfoMinute

As a lender, do I need an amendment to the contract even if the amendment doesn’t impact the loan? Good morning, my name is Clay Jeffreys and I’m a licensed mortgage lender. Yes, I need every single amendment to the contract regardless of whether or not it changes the terms of the loan. I love numbers. I particularly enjoy reading numbers at the top of an amendment. An agent I work with had a client whose closing was delayed because the lender didn’t have amendment 1. The loan officer didn’t check the number at the top when he received amendment 2. Because of this oversight, their closing was delayed. That is why I always check the amendment numbers to ensure we have every contract amendment. I’m a great referral for the real estate who never puts down their phone. Top produces don’t pretend to do it alone. Their clear success depends on the people they trust to catch the details. Ask who the “certified picky person” is on their team.

Green: Identify a specific person :
When you see your realtor friend Mark who never puts his phone down.
Who has a team of people working with him to make the deal flow smooth, so their clients close on time.
(this needs some more thought as maybe another 2 WHYs deep)

I agree on the green…I would even name a specific agent that you would like to meet. It is likely that someone we are talking to tomorrow will know that person and will make the intro. I’m doing that in mine.

Question….How does a powercore team member know that their Realtor friend “never puts the phone down.” I don’t think I can see that. Perhaps….

“I’m a great referral for your Realtor friend, Mark. He’s always working and is usually late to your neighborhood happy hours.” OR

“I’m a great referral for your Realtor friend, Mark. He’s always working and is usually late to kids’ weeknight soccer games.”
