Different + The Same

Many things are different right now –
I get to sleep in 30 minutes longer and still be at the meeting on time.
Instead of printing handouts I send a .pdf to Members the day before the meeting to print their own.
I’ve seen some sleepy toddlers in their daddy’s laps (I love this!) and some friendly pets participating (how fun is that).

Some things are the same –
I do have to arrive on time, and keep my InfoMinute and 7-Minute on time – the meeting still has to end at 8:30.
I do have to arrive by 6:30 (well, 6:40?) if I want to have those profitable pre-meeting catch-up conversations.
I do have to dress the way a new client would expect to see me at a first meeting – at least from the waist up (yes, I’ve been wearing jeans).

While the last 6 1/2 months have not been something I wished for, and I really miss spending time with family and friends and eating out, I have used this time to learn about and grow my business. I think in some ways this has given us all a time to pause and reflect and not live so rushed. I have met more fabulous people to collaborate with, have gotten more clients, and found some cool interests that I never would have had without the pandemic time. It’s not the break that I asked for, and I want everyone to be healthy and spend time with their families again, but if you are going to be forced to change, you might as well pivot with it! And I love everyone’s pets on Zoom – my Gracie now LOVES going to my office and listening to everyone talk. 🙂

Yes – there are things I wouldn’t have pushed myself to do if the boundaries hadn’t moved! I’m grateful for the push.
