It’s Okay to Say No Thank You

1 – People with “exotic” animals (e.g. reptiles, birds, small mammals) or people who are looking for rehabilitation for wildlife are not good clients for me. I don’t have the specialized training to treat these animals.

2 – A client I would only take as a favor would be someone who had been declined service at another veterinary hospital due to being belligerent with the staff.

3 – My ideal clients are pet owners who treat their pets like children. People who are interested and invested in keeping their pets happy and healthy as long as possible and have left behind the mindset of, “it’s just a dog/cat.”

4 – My best harvest would be either a veterinary hospital without the capabilities of performing some of the extensive surgeries that I am specially trained in performing and who would be comfortable referring clients to have those surgeries preformed by me, or an organization that boards or maintains animals that require routine care, such as a kennel or rescue.
