What To Do To Get Referrals: Leadership | Ingredients

A PowerCore Team’s LeadershipCore slices responsibilities five ways, like a pizza.

  • How is leadership responsibility split in your business?
  • How do your clients benefit because of this?

George, Emily and I split responsiblities based on what we're good at, what we will do, and what we won't do.

  • George won't do workshops or meetings. So I do that.
  • George handles all invoicing - so I don't have to embarrass Members about that.
  • Emily does detail work - the Knowledge Base, ebooks, handouts, prep for Officer Training.
  • George takes care of the contract to rent PIAG, and the dates we'll need it.
  • Emily creates the calendar for my Team visits based on recognition.
  • I write the Coaches Workshops, the Referral Triggers, the Mentor Moments, the Officer's scripts, and the Knowledge Base posts.
  • George and Emily are in the office most of the time, so they handle phone calls and respond to chat's on the website.

Members benefit from quick responses, and easy systems, because PowerCore isn't their business.

I am a sole practitioner, so the responsibilities for my business are all on me.

What is particular for my clients, is that the responsibility for their business is on them.

My work is to build a plan, set priorities, and make the next actions easy for them: they then have to take those actions. This is our division of responsibility.

I love this question!

My business uses a hierarchical structure to ensure the right people have their hands on the right projects.

  1. Each of the four departments in the business has a leader who is repsonsible for oversight and execution of projects at the department level.
  2. There is an executive leadership team responsible for strategy and performance measurement.
  3. There is an advisory board that provides governance and oversight from outside the organization.

These components work together to support efficient, high-quality work related to the security consulting provided to reduce risk for our customers. It also ensures the content created to support our event and educuation services is appropriate for the intended audience.

Leadership is all on me as the sole person in my business.

That personal connection works well with my clients as my business is very relationship-based.  Being able to make my clients comfortable to talk about their financial situation as well as their goals, dreams, fears, etc., is critical.  Being able to make that connection, allows us to make progress quickly and maintain momentum so my clients can achieve their goals.

With my comany being brand new, I am the only personal and so all responsibilities fall on me. As I grow I do have a plan to divide responsibilities.

The first will be to add an administrative assistant. The second divide will be between customer relations/sales and production/fullfillment. Next would be to separate the office into distinct departments that add to the overall efficiency and quality of our final products. After that I will separate production into departments and will likely add more product offerings. The list goes on and people will be added before at and after each shift, but the plan is there to help Chaos Works grow and provide consistent quality products and services as we grow.

Leadership responsibility is placed based upon the task at hand. Depending on who is the expert in the office for the implementation of that task will be the determining factor for who is to be the leader.

As the sole owner and operator of my business, it operates without multiple leadership positions. I believe this structure is advantageous for my clients, as it enables me to directly address any issues without "the middle man".
