What To Do To Give Referrals: Sunlight Spreads

Sunlight doesn’t change the object — it changes how we see it.  Your professional extra does the same for an Endorsement Letter. Tell us how you add light.

  • Do you show it to them for review, before posting?
  • Frame it for easy display?
  • Print extras for Members to hand off?

Don’t repeat a response.

I do print one for every Member - and I leave space for them to write in the southwest corner.

After I read it I say:
"While I was reading you thought of someone - write their first name here" and I point to the open space.
"Then write, 'When I heard this I thought of you. I know Kelly well. I'm happy to make an introduction if you'd like.'"

My goal is for every Endorsement Letter I write to create more referrals.
There are many ways to accomplish that goal! This is mine.

I like to make Endorsement Letters a grand-slam event for the recipient by reading it aloud and framing it for easy display. While writing this answer, I also thought of someone I can write an Endorsement Letter for exceptional service.

I frame it so it's easy to display for the recipient.

I will implement the idea of making a copy for everyone at the table so they can hand it off to a referral.

I print  and frame the letter to give to the member.

As a new PowerCore member (4 months), I learn SO MUCH from the questions about Endorsement Letters. It is a great idea to make copies for all the members. And I love what Wendy shared in the comments below and the exact words she uses to encourage other members to refer to the Endorsement Letter's member. I just wrote a new Endorsement Letter, and I'll apply the ideas shared here when I present it to my group during our next meeting.
