What To Do To Give Referrals: Participate: Referrals

One benefit of giving referrals is being known as more valuable than simply what you do -- being as valuable as all the people you can confidently refer to. Share the story of a referral you gave that strengthened a client's loyalty to you.

My tax client A shared that A and his girlfriend have a child and that they want to start to save for his college expenses.

I put A in contact with the Financial Advisor on my team, Nakia Sanford, and they together set up the correct account for them.

A then shared with another friend S who just got a second child to do the same.  Again I contacte Nakia Sanford and she chose one of her associates to set up accounts for the 2 children.

I had a client that purchased a new construction. It was a custom build in which the builder over promised and under delivered time and time again. As we worked through the process, I encouraged them to wait on some upgrades that they wanted to include in their construction so that it did not create more reasons for the builder to not miss another promised completion date. One of the upgrades was custom closets. I introduced them to the custom closet builder on my Powercore team. He was wonderful professional, provided quality work, and met every single deadline at or ahead of schedule. They were so impressed with my referral that they continue to ask me for referrals for a variety of other things. In additon, they value me as a real estate advisor and as a Realtor that they can refer friends and family to.

My client was launching his first-time plumbing business and was looking for an accountant that could help him set up his business accounts.  I referred him to an accoutant and pass power member that specialized in business taxes.  He contacted my referral and was thrilled that they were able to develope a system that managed all his business accounts. He still remains one of my loyal customers and ofter sends me other referrals.

I had a former client who needed a small job done.  This is not something we are organized to address.

So I referred them to an excellent handy man I know.

They were very pleased with the work and appreciated the referral.

A new process that our firm is building out is a 90-day plan for new clients.

During this process we have a checklist to we review with a client to ensure they have everything they need for financial success.

The goal is to have the client implement the new changes within the first 90-days of the engagement.

Also, this gives me the opportunity to pass referrals to my network increasing my value.

Most recently, I referred a law firm client to a new software provider. This new all-in-one software that Barry introduced me to a year ago is streamlining productivity in their firm which also increases profitability.

I also introduced them to a bank that caters to attorneys who are required to have a Trust account. Some banks do not properly accommodate attorneys in accordance with the bar association policies.

I am passionate about helping law firm owners succeed.

Ms. Taxpayer was referred to me for both tax problems and the need for an accountant.  She had a problem I could not solve.  I referred her to a special lawyer who is resolving the legal issue while I resolve the other issues.  I am her most trusted advisor as a result.

Years ago I represented a client who prepared and administered tests for employees.  It was a sort of Meyers-Briggs test in that it was supposed to see if the employee would fit with the other personalities already on the team.  The client called me in a panic and asked if I knew an lawyer who specialized in detemining whether employment tests were legal under California law.  I knew a few good employment lawyers and called them for help.  One of them had a calssmate who moved to California to practice, you guessed it, employment law, with an emphasis on the legality of employment tests.  I made the connection and my client thought I was a rock star!
