What To Do To Get Referrals: Referral Records

Visitors are a way to give to the entire Team because Visitors often do business with, or refer to Members, even when they don’t join.

Where in your business do you appreciate an introduction, even if the person isn’t interested in doing business with you?

How do each of you benefit?

At a Mary Kay party I teach each individual how to give themselves a facial, while I describe features and benefits of each product they apply to their skin. Since I’m not actually putting products on their faces (because I’m not a licensed cosmetologist) I can work with 3 or 4 people at a time. When a client invites friends/family to share an appointment, s/he introduces me to others who may… or may not… be interested in my products and services.  Whether those individuals decide to purchase or not, they are now acquainted with Mary Kay products; they know how I share them at free Try-Before-You-Buy facials; and they can affirm that I’m NOT a pushy salesperson.  They now feel safe recommending me to someone who is interested in Mary Kay products, knowing that I won’t be a Scary Kay Pink Stalker. They also benefit when their friends/family are forever grateful for introducing me, because of the healthy, beautiful skin they have from using our fabulous products.

This most readily applies to Gate Openers.  I love meeting CPAs. business attorneys and especially brand agents.  I don't like meeting them because I do direct business with many of these, but because I know that they have many clients who are likely to need my services too.  Accordingly, I like being a resource to these professionals so they will keep me in mind for future introductions.

As a financial coach, I realize that finances are very personal and relationships are important.

Everyone has a circle of influence and the more people that know what I do and how I help, the more folks I can guide through financial struggles and transform their lives. People want to be helpful and the more people they know that can help friends and associates, the more help they can provide.

Whenever someone introduces me and my business I appreciate and try to use the opportunity. Even when I do not see a chance to do business directly with the third person I'm being introduced to, one never knows what a good impression left with this person can do in terms of future referrals. Therefore, I try to use each and every opportunity to talk about my business in a way that catches peoples' interest and creates possible future referrals.

And this is a two-way street, business people who are introduced to me can always count on me thinking about them when an opportunity shows to refer them to third parties.

I'm open to meeting everyone...because (a) everyone will experience grief eventually and (b) most people don't know what to do or who to call when they are hit with grief. When that day comes, I want to be the one provider name they remember, the one business card they have saved in their drawer...whether they need me for themselves, or know someone else who does.

I personally enjoy and am interested in meeting new people. I never think of a sale when I meet someone new and truly don't ever want to come across that way. I want to know what they do so I can see if I might need their services or if I can refer them to a team member who could.
