A business owner came to me recently and said, “We get plenty of calls, but half of them are the wrong people.” They were spending time on the phone with folks who were not a fit, not ready, or calling for something they do not even offer.
When I looked at their website, it made sense. The service pages were written like a brochure. They sounded nice, but they did not clearly say who the service is for, what problems it solves, or what to do next. So search traffic was landing there, but the page was not doing any filtering.
We rewrote the pages to be clearer and more specific. We added a short section that said who this is for, who it is not for, what it costs in plain terms, and the next step. We also tightened the forms so people had to answer one or two simple questions before calling.
Within a couple of weeks, they told me the calls felt totally different. Fewer time-wasters and more people ready to move forward.
If you know a business owner who says, “We get inquiries, but they are not the right ones,” that’s a great introduction for me.
