Wendy and I met for our Annual Lunch at the OK Café. And as expected, it was better than okay…
We always have much to catch up on and I always continue to learn more about her and her history. The special part is that Wendy always seems to use history and experience towards new directions toward the future.
Did you know her Mom would not let her take typing when she was young for fear that she would be shoehorned into being a secretary? That would be a good story to hear about in your next coffee with her.
We talked a lot about technology. We are both pretty familiar with those 10” Floppy Discs that used to power our data on computers. She even recalls buying an IBM 10mg computer that the salesperson assured her would last the rest of her life. All the way to currently utilizing AI frequently. Her best tip was to treat AI like a Team Member, not a fancy Google Search.
But at the end of the day, I believe Wendy would consider herself Analog, as she has a large, detailed pen and ink collection.
We shared our affinity for lists. Wendy has lots of lists and books of ideas. And she considers it as an indicator that she still has a lot to give. She is here today to give us some more of that good stuff.
But if you know Wendy, it is not random. It is intentional. Like referrals, She always begins with the end in mind….
Let’s give it up loud and proud Team Whitlock for Wendy Kinney!
