I built my first website in 1997. I enjoy practicing martial arts (kung fu), hiking, and video production in my spare time. When I travel I spend more time in museums than on the beach.

WordPress is an amazing tool but like any tool it needs to be in the right hands to be effective. My clients focus on what they do best and trust an expert to do the rest. Finally, they communicate well by email and appreciate a quick turn around.

Slideshows - ugh!

Business owners often ask me for a slideshow on their website. Did you know that only 1% of people click on a slide? Sliders push down your content which is bad for SEO. I study best practices so I can educate my clients about their website. I had a client who needed a website rebuilt and their textual content was fine but their site wasn't well designed. After rebuilding their website to be accessible (compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act) the number of website visitors doubled. A great client for me is a professional who doesn't have time to do everything themselves and appreciates QUALITY. Ask Sharon, "How does your website work harder for you?"

InfoMinute

I might as well call my filing cabinet "WordPress Websites".

  1. The first drawer is Accessible Web Design which means my client needs a website that complies with The Americans with Disabilities Act. Is your website ADA Compliant?
  2. The second drawer is Sustainable Web Design which means my client needs a website that is lean and really fast. Again, every website I build is lean and fast but some clients such as the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program truly care about sustainability because it is part of their mission. Is your website lean and fast?
  3. The third drawer is WordPress Technical Support. Many clients find me because they needed help with something on their website and they need a "one tie fix" Most recently, David, a business owner had a website that was completely down. With some one on one coaching he it back up and running even thought he doesn't have a maintenance plan with me.
  4. The fourth drawer is WordPress Maintenance plans. My plans include web hosting, SSL certificates, backups, tech support, updates to software (WordPress Core, Themes and Plugins) and much more.

All four of these are enjoyable but with Website Technical Support my client gets almost instant satisfaction. After working on hundreds of WordPress websites I still run across interesting things. The other great thing about Technical Support is these one time fix clients end up on a Maintenance Plan because they appreciate great support and experience.
